Important comments made by our members may be included for each resource. An indication of the quality of service, where appropriate, may be included when members have provided this. Perth's ultimate LGBT venue, very safe and friendly for trans* folk. Has a couple of bars, a lounge, two dance floors and a beer garden. There are generally drag shows on Wednesdays. A Pizzeria is open most times, and a limited food menu is available on Wednesdays and weekends. The drinks are reasonably priced. The music can be quite loud in the evenings, so the venue is less suitable for quiet chats at those times. Very popular with Chameleon Society members. There is no entrance fee except on special show nights. You must have a photo ID to gain entry, though very frequent trans* visitors may be excepted. Recommended by many. April 15, 2010.
An open space designed to give the individual freedom to express themselves in any way (or format) they wish to, as long as it respects the rights of others within that space. A wide variety of music ranging from eighties, Goth, industrial, and electronic, plus a a wide range of well-priced drinks (try the Absinthe cocktails!). This is a gender/sexuality neutral environment and therefore very trans* friendly. Entrance is $7 from 10pm - 11pm and $10 thereafter, except on special show and live gig nights. Very popular LGBT nightspot since 1975. Has a most impressive lighting rig, a large dance floor, and a rooftop Terrace Bar with views of the city skyline. Open Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays with Drag and other shows most nights. A good place to meet friends and make new ones. Free entry from 10pm until 11pm and on Wednesdays, prices vary from $10 to $20 at other times, except on special event evenings. ID usually required for entry. Recommended by Rosalind and others. Much like a sixties style supper club, the decoration is fantastic. Plays retro music, rock n roll, 60s soul, disco, and latin. Serves bar snacks, party platters and great cocktails. Fridays and Saturdays are cabaret nights with diverse acts and live music. Thursdays are for rock and roll karaoke, or B-movies. Trans* friendly and welcoming.
